How is Earthbound Photography different?

Thousands of photographers to choose. So much great work, it's one of the best feelings when you find a photographer that suits you and your life! Which believe it or not is important! If you get a photographer who meshes with your personality, then the emotions really shine through your photos.

So today I'm going to go over a few things that I think make me different from other local photographers In how I run my sessions. This is a great way to know exactly what you are getting into before booking me as your photographer, weather we mesh or not I love my client's to know who I am and see if I suit what you’re looking for!

1. I GIVE MORE THAN I SAY

you may have noticed when looking through my investment packages I say I give a minimum amount of photos. When you look at other photographers they say they give a specific number of images and charge extra for more images, it's pretty common to do. I have found that I really love giving all the great images I get from one session. If I get 40 photos, but tell my client they only get 30 it just doesn't feel right. Why hold back beautiful images because of a silly number? Now sometimes I can only get a certain number because of kids, weather, time and different circumstances so that is why I have a minimum. But it's sure nice for the customer when I can get a tad more than I say.

A great example is Jonah's fresh 48! I told this family they would get 30 photos but I ended up giving 35, how in the world could I throw out any of these? they are all so beautiful! you can check out their gallery in the blog post below

2. Adding music to sessions

If you haven't had a recent session with me you are so missing out!! I have found the magic in adding music into my pictures. I have a cute little portable speaker I take with me and pull out when I need to get kids to dance, or couples in a romantic mood. It has worked wonders for getting you in the moment and more relaxed during your session. Have you found any other photographers who use music while they shoot?

It's SUCH a great way to get clients to feel more at ease.

I just adore this photo from a fresh 48 session in Spokane WA, this little girl started singing twinkle little star to her brand new brother, no one seemed to notice but I couldn’t let the moment pass it was so special.

3. I just want to play!

I love to play games with the littles. There are a lot of tricks up my sleeve from things like asking them to make funny noises, to asking them if they can hear their mommas heartbeat to get photos of them against moms chest. I really enjoy having fun with the kids, Even as simple as telling the parents to give their kids a little tickle goes a long way. I'm more of a candid rather than posed photographer so I adore tickle shots!

I got a shot of this toddler all because I said "run to me as fast as you can!" It's so much easier to let kids play than force them to sit and smile fake at the camera.

4. I try to be pretty quick

I'm a pretty quick editor. Turn around time for most family, fresh 48 and maternity sessions are about a week depending on how many sessions I have back logged. Bigger projects such as births are about 2-3 weeks. I know when I get my photos done I'm so impatient with waiting to get them back, so I try to make the process smooth and quick for my customers while still having quality and amazing images! I love to edit so it really doesn't feel like "work" to me. When I have a session I can throw on my headphones and edit for hours without realizing the time and before I know it, my sessions are done!

There you have it! 4 reasons I feel like I stand out in the photography world. If you are looking for a birth or family photographer I would love to chat more about your session.

*All photos above were taken in Coeur d’Alene Idaho, Spokane and surrounding areas.
